About The Advocate

I’m Martha Sperry, an attorney in the Boston area. Computers and technology have influenced me for as long as I can remember. Back in the day, I learned Basic programming on Radio Shack TRS-80s. Now, I am fascinated with how technology impacts the practice of law and I focus on human interaction in the digital realm, advancing techniques and technologies to improve research, writing, and information transfer, and novel modes of communication and business development. These are the topics that I care about and write about here, in Advocate’s Studio. I am a big proponent of mobile computing, always watching the current crop of smart phone offerings and mind-blowing apps. I write about my favorites at my Tumblr blog Mobile App Of The Day (link here).

There is no shortage of material to explore these days! I bring it back here for you to enjoy as well. Let me know if you have something interesting to share in the tech or legal development realm – I welcome the conversation.

  2. Hi Martha,

    I couldn’t find an email for you, so here is what I would have sent if I had your email:

    I teach an improv based CLE (3-credits) through The Peoples Improv Theater in NYC.

    3-Offers from me to you:

    1) Discount for your blog readers who want to take the Improv CLE;

    2) Extend an offer for you to write a guest blog on our blog (www.ImprovYourWork.com);

    3) We can write a guest blog post for your blog.

    That’s it! Just wanted to take a second to introduce you to The PIT and what we are doing that might connect with what you are doing.

    Thanks for your time!

    Tommy

  3. Hi Martha,

    As a tech lover and attorney I really enjoy your Blog. Our law firm has just started using collaborative and project management technology (not Sharepoint, but along those lines). Neulexa.com is one of the cooler legal collaborative platforms. The legal world has to catch up in this area.

  4. Thanks for the positive feedback and the tip about Neulexa.com – will check it out. I agree with you – firms are hotbeds of institutional knowledge but seem so behind when it comes to organizing, cataloging and promoting it with tools like this.

  5. I am having difficulty setting up the 7″ MIMO to show the same screen shots as my Windows 7 64 bit computer. I need to have both screen to show the same images. Can you provide some help.
